
This oat base pizza is simple to make and great for those who are trying to minimise the amount of bread and flour they eat. Referencing the Slimming World diet plan this recipe will use up 1 of your Healthy Extra B’s (HEB) and 1 of your Healthy Extra A’s (HEA). Alternatively it will cost 13 Syns.
This recipe takes about 30 minutes to make.
Ingredients:
- 40g Ground Oats (1 HEB)
- 1 Egg
- 80g Fat Free Yogurt
- 50g Mozzarella (1 HEA)
- 2tbsp Tomato Purée
- 2tbsp Tinned Chopped Tomatoes
Instructions:
- Weigh out 40 grams of Oats and grind them into a powder.
- Weigh out 80 grams of fat free yogurt and add it into the bowl with your ground oats. I have used both Fage Total 0% yogurt and Asda’s Fat Free Fromage Frais for this recipe and both have worked well.
- Add an egg and a pinch of salt and pepper and whisk until the mixture is combined. The mixture will be slightly runny but don’t worry it will harden in the oven as it cooks.
- Pour the mixture out onto a baking tray lined with baking paper, spread the mixture using a spatula or spoon into a circular shape. Please note that this mixture will make roughly a 10″ pizza base.
- Place the base into the oven at 160 degrees and bake for 10 minutes until firm.
- While its cooking you can prepare your toppings, and mix together the tomato puree and tinned tomatoes ready to assemble your pizza.
- Take the pizza out of the oven and turn it over using the baking paper onto the baking tray and then return it to the over for the remaining 10 minutes.
- Once the base is cooked pour on your tomato sauce and spread it evenly across the base, then simply add on your cheese and toppings.
- Bake the pizza for a further 10minutes until the cheese has melted and then serve.
